Cottage in Tuscany
in the Garfagnana valley near Lucca
Recently renovated throughout, Cottage Giusy pleasantly shows
the ancient origin of the building. Floored with 'cotto' tiles
and roofed with wooden beams, this traditional stone cottage
provides a old-age yet refined look-and-feel in every detail.
Cottage Giusy is located
on two levels joined by a winding staircase. On the ground floor
there is a large hall with a fireplace and fully equipped kitchen
(with dish-washer, electric oven, microwave, fridge, etc.) and
a bathroom with shower; the upper floor comprises two bedrooms,
one double and one twin. The façade is made of stone,
as are some of the inner walls.
Cottage Giusy has just undergone extensive restoration: the
interior was completely renovated and redecorated to enhance
the old country-style finishings such as the traditional terracotta-tile
and the impressive beamed ceilings in local chestnut wood.
The balcony which we added to the double room provides breathtaking
scenic views, while the bright kitchen-sitting room was be fitted
with large French windows overlooking the garden. The unit is
also be equipped with new laundry facilities.
